1Find and compare suitable UNICEF vacancies
Start with the official UNICEF vacancies portal or the IGO Jobs search. Compare the contract, duty station, job function, grade or experience level, languages and closing date, then focus on vacancies whose mandatory criteria genuinely match your profile.
2Open the official listing and start your application
Click the job title on UNICEF’s official vacancies portal, or simply select Apply now on IGO Jobs to open the corresponding official UNICEF job page. Once there, select Apply now, then sign in or create an applicant account with your email address when prompted.
3Complete every section of the applicant profile
Work through each section displayed by the portal. This will typically cover personal details and nationality, education, employment history, languages, self-disclosure and diversity and inclusion questions, an application statement, and application-sourcing feedback. Use complete dates and keep the information consistent with your documents.
4Tailor and upload your documents
For most UNICEF applications, prepare an online profile, CV or résumé and cover letter. Prioritize achievements and measurable results that address the vacancy criteria. Keep the CV focused on the role and the cover letter concise—normally no more than one page and two or three paragraphs—then upload every document requested in the notice.
5Review and submit before the deadline

Some vacancies are explicitly home-based, remote or hybrid, particularly consultancies, while many posts require presence at a named duty station. UNICEF also describes flexible working arrangements for eligible staff, but this does not make every vacancy remote. Check the location and work-arrangement wording in the individual listing.
Does UNICEF charge an application or recruitment fee?+
