Job Description

Provides technical, analytical and strategic support for policies, systems and programmes that improve health and nutrition outcomes for children, adolescents and women in Bhutan. The officer works with government and development partners on evidence, advocacy, programme design and monitoring across climate-resilient health systems, immunization, nutrition, prevention and health financing.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical, analytical and strategic support to strengthen health and nutrition policies, systems and programmes
  • Work with government counterparts, development partners and stakeholders on health and nutrition priorities
  • Contribute to evidence generation, policy advocacy, programme design, monitoring and systems strengthening
  • Support climate-resilient and sustainable health and nutrition systems
  • Advance immunization sustainability and prevention of childhood non-communicable diseases
  • Support maternal and adolescent nutrition, micronutrient interventions and health-financing priorities

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in public health, social science, economics, nutrition, food systems, child development, community development or related fields
  • At least two years of relevant experience in planning, programme management and implementation of health and nutrition programmes or evaluation of health and nutrition programmes
  • Proficiency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
  • Background or familiarity with emergencies
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
