Job Description

Leads UNICEF's immunization programme in Togo, providing direction for planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation across child-survival, maternal and child-health components. The Specialist strengthens evidence, government and NGO capacity, partnership coordination, programme financing and emergency readiness so immunization strategies deliver equitable, sustainable results for children.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the immunization programme
  • Integrate sex-disaggregated data and gender analysis into situation analysis and programme planning
  • Develop immunization strategies with internal and external partners
  • Provide technical support and capacity building to government, NGOs and Country Office staff
  • Monitor project implementation and adjust delivery to improve programme sustainability
  • Ensure accountability for supply and non-supply assistance and disbursement of programme funds
  • Maintain emergency preparedness and coordinate effective emergency responses

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in public health, nutrition and dietetics, epidemiology, public administration, nutrition, paediatric health, child development, social policy, social development, community development, health management, child health or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in nutrition, health, immunization programmes, public health, maternal and child health, health-systems strengthening, programme management or health policy
  • Professional technical-expert experience related to child survival and health care
  • Fluency in French
