Job Description
Supports South Africa’s National Department of Health to review the National Hygiene Strategy and create a costed, inclusive hygiene roadmap. The consultancy combines WASH evidence, financial modelling and stakeholder engagement to strengthen service delivery, coordination and monitoring, while aligning national policy and investment decisions with health and global hygiene targets.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review the National Hygiene Strategy with the National Department of Health
- Develop a comprehensive and costed National Hygiene Roadmap
- Assess hygiene service delivery, coordination and monitoring systems
- Conduct stakeholder consultations with ministries, NGOs and multilateral partners
- Develop financial and policy guidance for hygiene investment
- Prepare evidence-based recommendations, reports and implementation frameworks
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in public health, social behaviour change, social sciences or a relevant field
- At least five years of professional experience in WASH or public-health strategy development
- Experience in hygiene programming and WASH cost modelling or financial analysis
- Experience engaging government ministries, NGOs and multilateral partners
- Strong command of English
Desired Criteria
- Experience with South African health departments or partners is an asset
- Experience with UNICEF, UN agencies or multilateral partners is desirable
- Knowledge of global hygiene commitments and frameworks is desirable
