Job Description

Develops practical aeromedical-evacuation training materials for the UN Medical Support Section, translating standardized module outputs into field-test scenarios, technical content, job aids and checklists. The consultant supports an AME pilot, documents operational lessons and produces revised packages that enable missions and personnel to prepare, use and reset medical modules safely.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review AME materials and identify implications for familiarization, readiness and operational use
  • Develop AME training scope, framework, learning objectives and technical content
  • Prepare and support the AME pilot field test, including scenarios, participant roles and observation checklists
  • Document post-pilot observations and lessons on equipment readiness, patient handover and team coordination
  • Develop practical job aids and checklists for packing, pre-mission checks and post-mission reset
  • Revise and finalize training packages following MSS and CDOTS review

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in medicine, nursing, emergency medicine, aeromedical evacuation, critical care, anesthesia, public health, health management, medical education or a related health field
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience in aeromedical evacuation, emergency or critical-care transport, medical evacuation operations, field medical support or related medical training
  • Experience developing medical guidance, SOPs, technical documents, training inputs or practical implementation materials
  • Ability to communicate complex medical and operational concepts clearly in written technical materials, briefings or practical guidance
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience developing technical training materials, practical scenarios, simulation-based learning materials or job aids
  • Experience in practical training delivery, pilot testing, after-action review or training evaluation
  • Experience supporting international organizations, military medical services, UN field operations or humanitarian operations
