Job Description
Leads UNICEF Madagascar’s nutrition programme from strategic planning through delivery of sustainable results for children and women. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, the Chief manages the Nutrition team, directs programme development and support, advances advocacy and partnerships, mobilises resources and aligns work with national priorities and UNICEF’s results-based management framework.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all stages of the nutrition programme from strategic planning to delivery of results
- Lead and manage the Nutrition team
- Ensure sustainable results in maternal, infant and child nutrition programmes
- Provide advisory services and technical support for nutrition programming
- Lead advocacy, networking, partnership building, innovation and capacity building
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in nutrition, public health, epidemiology, global or international health, health policy, health management, health sciences, maternal and child health, international nutrition, research methods or another health-related science field
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in nutrition, public health, nutrition planning, maternal and child health, health programme management, monitoring and evaluation, policy development, advocacy or partnership development
- Proven track record in resource mobilisation for the nutrition sector
- Fluency in English and French
Desired Criteria
- Experience in health or nutrition programme or project development and management in a United Nations system agency or organisation
- Experience coordinating multi-sectoral programmes, emergency preparedness or early childhood development
- Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language or a local language
