Job Description
Develops a mental-health manual and revises Guyana’s pre-service teachers’ HFLE curriculum for UNICEF and government partners. The consultant will assess and update curriculum content, create training materials that help teachers recognize and respond to children’s mental-health needs, and deliver a workplan, revised materials and final documents supporting capacity building.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review, assess and revise the HFLE pre-service teachers’ curriculum to include mental health
- Develop a manual supporting pre-service teacher capacity building on mental health
- Create materials that help teachers recognize mental-health conditions and provide appropriate guidance
- Address child development, emotional and behavioural disorders and social-emotional skills in curriculum content
- Prepare an inception report with desk review and workplan
- Develop training manuals and materials and present final documents
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Public Health, Health Policy or a related field with specialized training or proven curriculum-development experience
- At least 10 years of professional experience in education, public health or social policy, including curriculum and training-material development
- English
Desired Criteria
- Previous work experience with the United Nations System
- Knowledge of Guyana’s sub-regional contexts
- Mental-health background or experience
