Part-Time English Language Teacher

Delivers English language and communication training for UN staff through the Language and Communications Training Unit. The part-time contractor prepares and teaches courses in classroom, online, hybrid and workshop formats, develops materials and assessments, monitors learner progress, maintains course records and supports multilingual communication across the Secretariat.

• Prepare and teach English language and communication courses
• Assess student performance and provide feedback
• Design English assessments and communicative tasks
• Develop course materials and self-study resources
• Construct and grade language-proficiency examinations
• Use Moodle and e-learning tools for preparation and delivery
• Maintain attendance and grading records

• Advanced university degree in language studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication, education or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least five years teaching English to adult foreign or second-language learners in multicultural settings
• At least three years of recent experience in curriculum development, language examination design or language teacher training
• Expert written and spoken English

• Degree emphasis on second or foreign-language teaching for adults
• Post-degree training in second or foreign-language teaching
• Experience with online collaboration tools
• International multicultural teaching experience
