Part-Time Spanish Language Teacher

Delivers Spanish language and communication training for UN staff through the Language and Communications Training Unit. The part-time contractor prepares lessons and materials, teaches in-person, online or hybrid courses, assesses progress and examinations, maintains learning records, develops self-study resources and supports multilingualism across the Secretariat.

• Prepare and facilitate scheduled Spanish lessons
• Correct assignments and homework and monitor student progress
• Provide group and individual feedback
• Administer, assess and grade tests and examinations
• Develop Spanish courses, self-study resources and learning materials
• Use Moodle and e-learning tools for course delivery
• Maintain attendance and grading records

• Advanced university degree in language studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication, education or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least five years teaching Spanish to adult foreign or second-language learners in multicultural settings
• At least three years of recent experience in curriculum development, language examination design or language teacher training
• Expert written and spoken Spanish
• Advanced English

• Degree emphasis on second or foreign-language teaching for adults
• Post-degree training in second or foreign-language teaching
• Experience with online collaboration tools
• International multicultural teaching experience
