Job Description
Teach Russian to adult United Nations staff, diplomats and personnel from country missions while leading the Russian programme within the Language Training Programme. The post combines classroom and online instruction, curriculum and assessment development, learner support, examinations and coordination of individual-contractor teachers to advance multilingualism across the Secretariat.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Teach Russian as a foreign language at all levels and across language skills
- Prepare courses and correct learners' work
- Develop and deliver general and specialised Russian courses in person, online and in blended formats
- Provide pedagogical support and individual feedback while maintaining attendance and grading records
- Set Russian programme objectives and prepare, administer or mark language examinations
- Recruit and coordinate individual-contractor Russian teachers and their evaluation measures
- Update curricula, learning materials, assessments and course schedules for client needs
- Collaborate with other language programmes on joint Language Training Programme development projects
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in language area studies, language teaching, applied linguistics, communication, education or a related area where Russian is the language of instruction
- At least five years teaching Russian as a foreign or second language to adults in a multicultural setting
- At least three years of recent curriculum development, language-examination design or teacher-training experience for adult Russian learners
- Russian plus either English or French at the required United Nations language level
- Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the Geneva duty station
Desired Criteria
- Training in teaching Russian as a second or foreign language to adult learners
- At least 550 hours teaching online group courses over the last five years
- Experience using Moodle, Canvas or Blackboard to manage resources and monitor learner progress
- Experience with Office tools
- International-level experience
