Responsibilities

  • Lead legal and policy advice on member outreach, governance meetings and shareholder relations
  • Advise on AIIB constituent instruments, internal legal frameworks and legal instruments
  • Develop and negotiate legal instruments on privileges, immunities and host support arrangements
  • Advise administrative functions on HR, procurement, facilities, privacy, security and IT governance
  • Support staff grievance mechanisms and litigation defence
  • Advise ethics, integrity, ombuds, policy and partnership functions
  • Lead development of internal legal advice and governance documentation
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to knowledge-management initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum five to eight years of relevant professional experience for Counsel, or eight to ten years for Senior Counsel, with the most recent three to five years in a lead capacity for Senior Counsel
  • Advanced law degree with qualification to practise law in at least one jurisdiction
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent legal drafting and advisory abilities
  • Effective communication skills including persuasive speaking and clear presentation
  • Excellent command of English for drafting and negotiating legal documents
  • Ability to innovate while mitigating legal risk
