Compare Jordan vacancies on IGOJobs.com, then use the employer’s named application system. Amman contains UNRWA Headquarters, regional offices, country teams and humanitarian organizations, but they do not share a recruitment account or contract system.
1Find vacancies on correct portals
Use IGOJobs to compare roles, then open the official notice. UNRWA uses its own careers site; Secretariat positions use UN Careers and Inspira. UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, UNOPS, IOM, UNDP, WHO, UN Women and NGOs use separate portals. Confirm whether the role is in Amman, Azraq, Zaatari, Irbid or Mafraq.
2Create the employer-specific application
Create an Inspira account for Secretariat roles and complete all required fields. Other employers can require a different profile, CV, personal history form, motivation statement, references or documents. Match the stated education, experience, languages, technical skills and competencies to evidence.
3Tailor Arabic and humanitarian evidence

5Prepare for assessment and relocation
Expect written exercises, interviews, technical tests, presentations and references. Before relocating, confirm the legal employer, duration, salary and tax treatment, insurance, pension, residence documents, family eligibility, security arrangements and duty station. Camp conditions can differ markedly from an Amman regional post.
Jordanian work permits and host arrangements
For ordinary Jordanian employment, non-Jordanian workers need a Ministry of Labour work permit; an offer alone is not authorization. Eligible international-organization officials may instead have entry, residence and accreditation processed through their employer and the Foreign Ministry under a host agreement. The legal employer, appointment, nationality and duration determine the route. Locally recruited roles should not be assumed to carry international status or related family entitlements.

Do I need Jordanian nationality for an international organization job?
Not for every role. Internationally recruited posts can be open across nationalities, while National Officer, General Service, local consultancy and locally recruited roles can require Jordanian nationality, residency or local eligibility. The individual vacancy is the controlling source.
Is Arabic required for international jobs in Jordan?
Arabic is important for country-programme, refugee-response and government-facing roles. English is widely used in regional offices and coordination, and other languages can matter for refugee programming. Follow the vacancy’s stated level rather than assuming one language is sufficient.
Do staff need a Jordanian work permit?
Not necessarily. Ordinary employment uses an employer-supported Ministry of Labour permit. Eligible international officials can follow an employer-led host-agreement process for entry, residence and accreditation. An Amman office does not itself establish that status; ask HR which route applies.
Are all Jordan roles in Amman?
