Job Description
UNDP seeks a UN Volunteer Sustainable Energy Associate in Amman to support Yemen’s Climate Change, Water, Energy and Environment portfolio. The role supports energy-transition and efficiency initiatives, renewable-energy data collection, national climate-policy alignment, financing proposals, stakeholder coordination, delivery monitoring, safeguards, and inclusive evidence-based programming.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support design and implementation of energy-transition and energy-efficiency programmes
- Gather technical data on renewable energy, cooling and demand-side management for project-pipeline development
- Contribute to diagnostics and assessments in fragile-state conditions
- Align interventions with Yemen’s NDC commitments and national renewable-energy strategy
- Support energy-project design, financing-opportunity identification and donor proposals
- Coordinate with ministries, private-sector actors and financial institutions
- Monitor project outputs, performance indicators and environmental and social safeguards
- Prepare progress reports, knowledge products and communications materials
Role Requirements
- Degree in Renewable Energy, Climate Change, International Development, Economics, Engineering or a related field
- Climate-change mitigation and renewable-energy technology knowledge
- Writing and communication in English
- Monitoring and results-based-management skills
Desired Criteria
- Previous volunteer experience or experience of another culture
