Programme Support Associate: Environmental Sustainability

UNEP seeks a national UN Volunteer in South Africa to coordinate environmental and climate programme activities, support UNSDCF Results Group meetings, research sustainability issues, track outputs and results, maintain programme knowledge and assist stakeholder engagement, communications and administration.

Department: Southern Africa Subregional Office

• Coordinate climate, biodiversity and environmental programme activities
• Support UNSDCF Results Group meetings and inter-agency follow-up
• Research climate, ecosystems, pollution and environmental governance
• Maintain activity trackers and compile reporting inputs
• Document lessons, good practices and programme achievements
• Support stakeholder meetings, visibility materials and administration

• Diploma or higher qualification in environmental science, environmental management, nature conservation or a closely related field
• Demonstrated interest or experience in environmental sustainability, climate change or natural-resource management
• Programme administration and report-writing skills
• Meeting coordination and records-management skills
• Fluent English

• Monthly Volunteer Living Allowance of R7,500 is provided
