Country Lead – RESIslands Initiative

Coordinates RESIslands implementation in Cabo Verde, serving as the national focal point between UNECA, government institutions and project partners. The consultancy aligns activities with national priorities, supports climate-risk capacity building and secures institutional uptake of project outputs.

• Serve as the national focal point and facilitator for RESIslands activities in Cabo Verde
• Convene workshops, consultations, training events and project-pipeline write-shops
• Liaise with government institutions, the AISCC, United Nations offices, civil society and academia
• Provide technical assistance for national training, risk diagnostics and project deliverables
• Prepare field visits, logistics, permits, invitations and national service procurement
• Produce technical progress reports, activity briefs and monitoring documentation
• Collect data and disseminate project tools, practices and lessons
• Secure stakeholder validation and post-project uptake of platforms, pipelines and knowledge products

• Advanced university degree at master’s level in climate science, environmental policy, project management, economics, social sciences, geography, geoinformatics or a related field
• At least five years of professional experience in climate resilience, institutional development or project coordination
• Cabo Verde nationality and residence
• Fluency in English and Portuguese

• Full-time six-month consultancy requiring professional exclusivity
