Job Description

Supports the Biodiversity Credit Alliance Secretariat in advancing a credible biodiversity-credit market. The home-based analyst researches market developments and standards, coordinates technical working groups and consultations, develops guidance and technical outputs, supports partner collaboration and outreach, and contributes analysis on biodiversity finance, policy and market dynamics.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Analyse biodiversity credit markets, actors, definitions and emerging practices
  • Monitor developments in biodiversity finance, carbon markets and related standards
  • Screen biodiversity credit schemes against the BCA High-Level Principles
  • Coordinate technical working groups and consultative delivery of technical outputs
  • Produce issue papers, technical reports and guidance materials
  • Support country readiness assessments, pilot design and capacity building
  • Contribute to outreach and advocacy on high-integrity biodiversity credits
  • Organise targeted stakeholder events and workshops

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in environmental science, environmental management or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • Two years of experience with biodiversity credits, nature financing, policy development and research for candidates with a bachelor's degree
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • UN or UNDP rules and procedures experience
  • Experience facilitating biodiversity-credit consultations
  • Experience providing technical guidance or capacity building
  • Experience presenting at high-level nature-finance events
  • Experience applying biodiversity-credit market policy guidelines
