Job Description
Serves as CAFI’s national focal point in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, steering policy dialogue, partnerships and strategic investments that protect Central African forests. The specialist connects government, donors, implementing partners and civil society, develops policy and financing options, and manages coordination to advance sustainable development and low-emissions programmes.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Serve as national focal point for CAFI engagement with government and implementing partners
- Coordinate strategic dialogue and stakeholder engagement across government, donors, NGOs, private sector and civil society
- Develop briefing materials, policy papers and recommendations for partnerships and investment opportunities
- Facilitate partnership agreements, monitoring matrices and annual partnership reviews
- Coordinate quality control, work planning and delivery across CAFI programmes
- Support resource mobilisation and strategic communications
- Build advocacy networks and facilitate knowledge sharing and staff training
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in environment, ecology, forestry, business management, law, economics or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional qualifying years
- At least five years of experience in natural-resource management, development economics or climate-change policy in Central Africa
- Experience with partnership agreements and programming modalities of the UN, World Bank or comparable institutions
- Experience with development-assistance policies and procedures in CAFI mandate sectors
- Fluency in French and English
