Job Description
UNICEF Bhutan seeks a consultant to support the Climate Smart School Initiative. The consultant will help deliver climate-resilient, low-carbon and energy-efficient school interventions, including renewable energy, infrastructure, waste management and climate education. The work includes programme design, stakeholder coordination, capacity building, monitoring systems and recommendations for national scale-up, remotely with travel to Thimphu.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide strategic programming, design and technical guidance for the Climate Smart School Initiative
- Support UNICEF and government partners to operationalize the initiative
- Oversee technical quality and strengthen stakeholder coordination
- Develop implementation frameworks and monitoring systems
- Support capacity building and national scale-up of climate-smart school models
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in renewable energy engineering, environmental engineering, climate change, sustainable development, energy management or climate resilience
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience
- Excellent written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Experience in Bhutan or South Asia
- Experience with UNICEF, UN agencies, GCF or climate-financing initiatives
- Experience in child-centred and inclusive education programmes
