Provides environmental expertise to UNEP FI and Brazil’s Ministry of Finance for development and implementation of the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy. The consultant reviews sectoral technical annexes, coordinates inputs across technical groups and committees, supports consultations and stakeholder engagement, and strengthens sustainable-finance decision-making and environmental objectives across taxonomy deliverables.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide environmental technical input to sectoral and thematic technical groups
- Review specialist deliverables and verify integration of committee observations
- Prepare strategic inputs and progress information for taxonomy governance bodies
- Review and revise sectoral technical annexes through successive consultation stages
- Support consultations and incorporation of feedback into final taxonomy documents
- Coordinate engagement with government, UNEP FI partners and other stakeholders
- Document changes to sectoral technical criteria and their justification
- Integrate human-rights, gender-equality and inclusion commitments into outputs
Role Requirements
- Master's degree in economics, finance, business administration, political science, engineering, environmental science or a related discipline, or a bachelor's degree with seven years of relevant experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in sustainable development, macroeconomics, sustainable finance or sustainability in economic sectors relevant to the Brazilian Sustainable Taxonomy
- Fluency in English and Portuguese
- Proficiency with Microsoft and virtual collaboration platforms
Desired Criteria
- Experience managing complex projects or programmes with multidisciplinary stakeholders
- Client-facing sustainability consulting experience
- Knowledge of sustainable finance
- Understanding of sustainability drivers in emerging economies, particularly Latin America and Brazil
- Experience with government entities, public financial-sector institutions, international donors or international technical-cooperation projects
