Summary of Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental screening, baseline studies and site assessments
- Prepare environmental management and mitigation-monitoring plans
- Inspect field activities and monitor contractor compliance with safeguards
- Advise contractors, communities and engineering teams on environmental controls
- Assess structural, environmental and land-suitability risks for relocation sites
- Document monitoring results and track corrective actions
- Coordinate with government authorities and regulatory stakeholders
- Deliver environmental compliance reports and technical outputs
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in a relevant field, or a university degree in the same field with five years of relevant professional experience
- Experience designing or establishing common-property natural-resource management systems
- Ability to travel within Chuuk lagoon and to outer islands
Desired Criteria
- Experience working on outer islands, in the Pacific or in Micronesia
