Job Description
This IUCN Junior Professional role at the Convention on Wetlands Secretariat supports European Ramsar Site designations, conservation and policy processes. The post evaluates information sheets, assists parties using the RSIS database, maintains government and partner contacts, prepares meetings, analyses wetland policy issues and monitors assigned grants and reporting.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Evaluate Ramsar Information Sheets and prepare designation documentation
- Support Contracting Parties entering new designations and updates in RSIS
- Assist work on conservation and ecological-character changes at wetland sites
- Maintain contacts with governments, NGOs and international partner organisations
- Prepare regional, Standing Committee and Conference of the Parties meetings
- Compile and draft technical and policy information on wetland conservation
- Monitor assigned projects and ensure grant-compliant reports
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a subject relevant to wetland conservation and sustainable use
- At least 6 months of relevant professional work experience in field work related to wetlands
- Work experience or familiarity with work in the Europe region
- Ability to work in English and a second official Convention language
Desired Criteria
- Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, CiviCRM or equivalent
- Experience working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
