Supports FAO engagement with Small Island Developing States through policy dialogue, partnerships and knowledge exchange on food security, climate resilience and sustainable agrifood systems. The role coordinates Geneva-based initiatives, stakeholder networks and evidence-led communications across regional groups.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain engagement with Small Island Developing State permanent missions and respond to member priorities
- Support strategy for stronger SIDS agrifood systems and international commitments
- Coordinate dialogue with Caribbean, Pacific and African, Caribbean and Pacific regional groups
- Organise the SIDS Solutions Dialogue Series across FAO liaison offices
- Produce the quarterly SIDS Digest using applied AI for knowledge dissemination
- Represent SIDS priorities in meetings, conferences and technical events
- Integrate SIDS needs across trade, resilience, climate and One Health workstreams
Role Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in agriculture, natural resources, social or political sciences, economics, public administration, international relations or a related field
- One year of relevant development or project-management experience engaging partners, governments, international organisations, research institutions or civil society
- Working knowledge of English and intermediate knowledge of another FAO official language
- Age 32 or younger on 31 December of the application year

- Knowledge of FAO's mandate, priorities and programmes
- Ability to analyse environment, climate, biodiversity, food-security and nutrition issues
- Understanding of challenges facing Small Island Developing States
- Technical and analytical skill with applied AI for knowledge generation and dissemination
