Chief, Political Analysis and Programme Development Unit

Leads UN Women’s Political Analysis and Programme Development Unit. The Chief produces gender-responsive analysis and strategic advice, manages regional specialists, supports country and regional offices, builds Member State partnerships, coordinates inter-agency engagement and advances cross-regional learning.

Department: Political Analysis and Programme Development Unit

• Lead gender-responsive country, regional and cross-regional political analysis
• Advise executive leadership on trends, crises and strategic engagement
• Support country and regional offices through programme cycles and strategic-note development
• Coordinate UN Women contributions to United Nations prevention mechanisms
• Build relationships with programme-country missions and regional groups
• Support political outreach for intergovernmental processes
• Coordinate South-South and triangular cooperation engagement
• Facilitate cross-regional knowledge exchange and information flow
• Manage workplans, budgets, performance and wellbeing for a five-person team

• Master’s degree in development, political science, economics, public policy or another social-science field, or first degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least ten years of international development-programme experience including gender equality and women’s rights
• Technical expertise in a UN Women Strategic Plan thematic area
• Fluent English

• Fixed-term P-5 appointment in New York
• The role supervises five personnel, including four direct reports
