Policy Analyst

Supports UN Women’s work to prevent violence against women and girls through policy analysis, research, evidence generation and programme monitoring, translating findings into guidance and advocacy while engaging Member States, civil society, donors and ACT programme partners.

Department: Ending Violence against Women Section

• Analyse policy and provide technical input to violence-prevention and ACT programme priorities
• Adapt and quality-assure policy guidance, technical tools and evidence-based prevention resources
• Research emerging violence-against-women issues and synthesise findings for policy and programming
• Prepare policy briefs, analytical reports, presentations, talking points and knowledge products
• Manage knowledge platforms and promote evidence uptake through webinars and consultations
• Support advocacy and policy engagement with Member States, UN entities, civil society and donors
• Contribute to programme planning, monitoring, reporting and results tracking
• Analyse programme performance and document partner results, lessons and evidence

• Master’s degree in Law, Social Sciences, Political Science, Development, Public Administration or Gender, or a first university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least two years of progressively responsible experience developing knowledge products on ending violence against women and girls
• Experience preventing violence against women and girls, including the RESPECT framework and engagement with men and boys
• Experience researching and writing about violence against women and gender equality
• Experience supporting international advocacy on ending violence against women and girls
• Experience coordinating high-level advocacy events and technical briefings at the United Nations
• Experience working in developing countries within the United Nations system
