Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and support operational and policy work for IMF economists
  • Collect, compile, access, and manipulate macroeconomic data from multiple sources
  • Maintain and update economic, financial, and statistical databases
  • Conduct quantitative analysis using econometric and statistical tools
  • Evaluate economic, financial, and statistical relationships in databases
  • Design systems that facilitate interfaces or transfers between external and in-house databases

Requirements

  • Recent bachelor's degree in economics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, finance, data science, or another related quantitative field is required
  • Candidates with advanced degrees in the same relevant field may be considered with limited combined professional experience
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 out of 4.0, or equivalent, in both the principal field of study and overall program is required
  • Ability to work independently under minimum supervision and be accountable for data and program accuracy is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint, and econometric packages such as STATA, EViews, MATLAB, and other statistical and analytical tools is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required
