Job Description

Supports IUCN projects that reduce plastic pollution and strengthen waste management and circular-economy practice in the Maldives. The officer will coordinate field activities and technical inputs, help conduct waste assessments and community implementation, organise and analyse operational data, and prepare project documentation that supports government, civil-society and community partners to deliver effective conservation results.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support plastic-pollution and waste-management project implementation
  • Coordinate field activities, logistics and technical inputs
  • Support waste assessments, audits and community activities
  • Organise and analyse waste-related operational data
  • Prepare technical reports and project documentation

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, marine science, environmental engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in waste management, plastic pollution reduction, circular economy or conservation
  • Fluency in English and Dhivehi
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data-management tools

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with government, research institutions, civil society or community stakeholders
  • Experience in donor-funded projects
