Job Description

Supports FAO Nepal climate-change and natural-resource programmes across agriculture and forestry. The officer coordinates project delivery, develops concepts and proposals, monitors budgets and corporate data, builds partnerships, organizes policy dialogues and prepares stakeholder communications and outreach materials.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate implementation of national, regional and global climate-change projects
  • Support climate adaptation, mitigation and resilience interventions in agriculture and forestry
  • Prepare concept notes, project proposals and resource-mobilization materials
  • Monitor project revisions, expenditures, resources and budget discrepancies
  • Maintain complete and accurate project data and documentation in FAO corporate systems
  • Develop partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and private-sector stakeholders
  • Organize policy dialogues, workshops and consultation meetings
  • Prepare communication and outreach materials for stakeholder engagement

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in agriculture, climate change, environmental science, natural resource management or another relevant field
  • At least one year of experience supporting climate-change and natural-resource-management projects or programmes
  • English
  • Another FAO official language
  • No more than 32 years of age as of 31 December of the application year

Desired Criteria

  • Food and nutrition security, agricultural development or disaster-risk-reduction experience
  • Technical or scientific document preparation and editing experience
  • Experience supporting partnerships with UN agencies, NGOs, donors or government institutions
  • Work experience in more than one location or field position
