Job Description
Supports Vanuatu’s Ministry of Health to operationalise the Health National Adaptation Plan and integrate climate resilience across health policy and programmes. The officer coordinates partners, strengthens implementation and monitoring systems, and advances evidence-based climate and health action.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate climate-change and health workplans, implementation and reporting
- Operationalise Vanuatu’s Health National Adaptation Plan
- Identify implementation barriers, gaps and priority actions
- Align health adaptation work with the National Adaptation Plan and climate policies
- Strengthen coordination across government, provincial authorities, partners and civil society
- Facilitate consultations, workshops, assessments and implementation reviews
- Develop technical documentation, learning products and evidence for decision-making
Role Requirements
- Vanuatu nationality and residence within the local commuting area
- University degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Climate Change, Environmental Management, Health Policy, Health Systems, Development Studies or a related field
- At least two years of relevant professional experience
- Government programme-coordination experience
- Experience preparing reports, stakeholder documentation and technical materials
- Excellent English
Desired Criteria
- Postgraduate or master’s qualification in a relevant field
- Experience in climate-change and health adaptation
- Experience implementing HNAP or NAP processes
- Experience with monitoring and evaluation
- Experience with WHO, the United Nations or development partners
- Knowledge of climate-resilient health systems
