Climate Risk and Agrometeorology Specialist

Analyzes climate risks and services for agrifood systems. The specialist assesses climate impacts and extremes, works with observations and forecasting, analyzes environmental and socioeconomic data, prepares technical guidance, develops training, and supports climate-project formulation.

Department: Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment

• Assess climate impacts and risks across agricultural sectors
• Analyze climate variability, extremes and agrifood-system vulnerability
• Review climate-service production and delivery to farmers
• Use observation, forecasting and early-warning information
• Draft technical documents, guidelines and scientific reports
• Develop training materials and support climate-project formulation

• Relevant advanced degree for consultants or university degree for personal service agreement holders
• One year for Category C, five years for Category B or ten years for Category A in climate-impact, climate-service or agrifood-risk work
• Working English
• Ability to analyze climate, agronomic, socioeconomic, remote-sensing and environmental data
