National Spatial Information Systems Specialist

Develops Papua New Guinea’s protected-area registry and national geospatial systems. The specialist administers GeoNode and spatial databases, integrates protected-area and land-use data, supports restoration and peatland monitoring, builds early-warning products, and trains government partners.

• Develop the GeoNode-based protected-area registry and workflows
• Manage spatial and attribute data in PostgreSQL and PostGIS
• Integrate land-use, restoration, peatland and biodiversity datasets
• Build food-security monitoring dashboards and early-warning alerts
• Prepare maps, metadata, reports and technical documentation
• Coordinate stakeholders and train government counterparts

• Advanced degree in GIS, geomatics, geography, statistics, data science, environmental science, remote sensing, information systems or a related discipline
• Five years of relevant geospatial or natural-resource information experience
• Working English
• Nationality of Papua New Guinea
