Overview

Supports Earth-observation and geospatial analytics at the United Nations Global Service Centre in Valencia. The intern builds night-light analysis pipelines, performs remote-sensing and change analysis, integrates open-source indicators, validates data, researches new technology, and contributes outputs to UN Maps.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical pipelines using satellite night-time-light data
  • Perform remote-sensing change detection and time-series analysis
  • Collect open-source information and extract geospatial indicators
  • Validate and document datasets and analytical outputs
  • Research emerging technology, including artificial intelligence
  • Integrate data and visual products into UN Maps services

Requirements

  • Enrollment in or completion of a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral programme related to remote sensing and geospatial information systems
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
