Job Description

Supports the UN Operations and Crisis Centre (UNOCC) by providing cross-pillar analysis, research, and data-driven services to senior UN interagency leadership. The intern will contribute to global situational awareness and crisis management to inform decision-making.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor, research, and analyse political, security, human rights, economic, social, and humanitarian developments
  • Prepare visual slides, analytical briefs, and presentations for senior UN leadership and Member States
  • Identify data sources, maintain records, and develop datasets and indicators for analytical products
  • Process, organise, and transcribe structured surveys to support evidence-based decision-making
  • Draft talking points, senior-level correspondence, and meeting summaries
  • Track and analyse senior-level decisions and their implementation

Role Requirements

  • Academic Qualifications: The minimum educational qualification required is HS diploma
  • The applicant must also meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher)
  • Or (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent)
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship
  • High school diploma and enrolled in or completed a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent or higher), or enrolled in or recently completed the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent)

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems and mapping is also desirable
