Job Description
Supports UNDP’s Committee on Missing Persons project in Cyprus by researching cases of missing persons and maintaining reliable case information. The role gathers, reviews and analyses evidence from witnesses, archives and digital sources, identifies potential burial sites and works with CMP teams under strict confidentiality and data-protection standards.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Conduct research on the fate of missing persons
- Interview witnesses and informants sensitively and professionally
- Research archives, newspapers and social media
- Review evidence and identify potential burial sites
- Update the CMP database with relevant case information
- Prepare information on activities, deliverables and milestones
- Support archaeological teams during site visits and excavations
- Participate in family-information meetings under confidentiality standards
Role Requirements
- Secondary education
- At least three years of data-collection experience
- Research experience collecting and analysing information from archives, newspapers and social media
- Experience conducting sensitive witness or informant interviews
- Experience maintaining a database on missing persons and potential burial sites
- Fluency in English and Greek
- Nationality or permanent residence in Cyprus
Desired Criteria
- Experience with CMP’s sensitive bi-communal work
- Experience in bi-communal actions
- Knowledge of the modern historical context of Cyprus
- Experience in forensic investigation or missing-persons work
- Certificate in criminology or investigations
