Job Description

Conducts policy research and analysis for Thailand Policy Lab, helping turn complex public-policy challenges into evidence-based recommendations and practical experiments. The analyst leads research initiatives, coordinates policy workstreams, designs participatory consultations and shares findings with government, civil society and international partners to strengthen inclusive policy innovation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead research and analysis on policy-system transformation and thematic policy issues
  • Conduct research on complex policy issues and generate evidence-based recommendations
  • Manage assigned policy workstreams across the policy-development lifecycle
  • Design and implement policy experiments with evaluation frameworks
  • Prepare research papers, policy briefs and technical reports
  • Document and analyse research results and lessons from experiments
  • Facilitate consultations, workshops and policy dialogues with diverse stakeholders
  • Develop knowledge products and coordinate collaborative policy initiatives

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in public policy, public administration, data science, law, research, economics or a related discipline, or a first-level degree with additional qualifying experience
  • At least two years of progressively responsible public-policy, public-sector-development and qualitative or quantitative research experience
  • Experience preparing analytical reports and policy briefs and engaging government counterparts
  • Experience working with governments or international organisations on policy or policy innovation
  • Experience coordinating international and multi-sector stakeholders
  • Experience in public policy, public-sector innovation and public-sector systems

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with UNDP or the United Nations system
  • Experience in a comparable policy-innovation setting
  • Experience in government-sector policy processes, planning, innovation strategies, research or cross-sector collaboration
  • Deep-research and data-analytics experience
  • Experience training or implementing policy-innovation tools
