Support Mexico’s finance ministry in translating NDC 3.0 priorities into investable opportunities by coordinating the Country Platform, organising climate-finance evidence, analysing regulatory and financial risks and preparing technical materials for public and private stakeholders.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support development of the climate-finance module of Mexico’s Country Platform
  • Identify projects, sectors and investment opportunities aligned with NDC 3.0
  • Compile evidence on public policy, infrastructure, investment barriers and de-risking needs
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, minutes and follow-up with institutional stakeholders
  • Map financial actors and prepare materials for investors and strategic partners
  • Document regulatory barriers and prepare actor and responsibility matrices
  • Compile information on financial instruments and potential project pipelines
  • Prepare project reports, dashboards, presentations and donor-reporting inputs

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education, or first-level university degree in social sciences with a focus on economics, public policy or climate finance
  • At least seven years of relevant experience with secondary education, or four years with a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in public policy, climate finance, sustainable development, public investment or climate-related projects
  • Experience coordinating with government institutions, private-sector actors or cooperation agencies
  • Experience analysing documents and preparing reports or technical briefs
  • Experience with climate-policy frameworks in Mexico
  • Fluency in Spanish and English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in climate finance, sustainable investment, financial de-risking or resource mobilisation
  • Experience with value chains, infrastructure projects or NDC-related sector analysis
  • Previous collaboration with UNDP or another international cooperation agency
