Overview
Leads UNDP engagement with Member States, Executive Board processes and major intergovernmental forums. The specialist produces political analysis and intelligence, advises senior leaders on positioning and negotiations, builds diplomatic relationships and coordinates briefs, strategies and institutional follow-up.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate UNDP preparations for Executive Board sessions and targeted Member State engagements
- Finalize Executive Board messages, political intelligence notes and negotiation documentation
- Maintain relationships with Permanent Missions, Member State groups and UN entities
- Analyze intergovernmental decisions and advise on strategic, policy and operational implications
- Develop political mapping and engagement strategies for senior UNDP leadership
- Monitor General Assembly, ECOSOC and committee negotiations for risks and opportunities
- Prepare speeches, briefing notes, talking points and position papers for senior management
- Maintain tracking systems for Member State positions, mandates and engagement follow-up
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in international relations, public administration or another relevant social-science field, or a bachelor’s degree in those fields with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of qualifying experience with a bachelor’s degree or nine years with a master’s degree in the UN system, government, intergovernmental affairs or closely related work
- Strong knowledge of the United Nations system
- Proven inter-agency, intergovernmental, diplomatic-relations, political-analysis or advocacy experience
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with Permanent Missions, government representatives and diplomatic stakeholders
- Exceptional drafting skills for briefs, talking points and position papers
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
