Job Description
The UN Operations and Crisis Centre (UNOCC) seeks GIS interns to support its Data Unit with map production for operational support, advocacy, and strategic planning. Interns will work on spatial analysis, cartography, and geospatial data management in a multi-party crisis and risk management environment. This is a pool opening for internship vacancies running January 2026 through January 2027.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Produce GIS maps for operational support, advocacy, awareness-raising, and strategic planning
- Conduct spatial analysis, remote sensing, and geospatial data management tasks
- Support integrated analysis and modelling that informs senior UN leadership on country risk outlooks and crisis developments
- Contribute to predictive and historic trend analysis within the Data Unit
- Collaborate with team members on geospatial programming and visualization projects
Role Requirements
- Enrolled in or graduated from a degree programme in GIS, remote sensing, cartography, spatial analysis, or related field
- Fluency in English

- Collaborative team player
- Knowledge of additional UN official language is an advantage
