Job Description
DPPA-DPO seeks a Political Intern for the Europe and Central Asia Division in New York. Supporting the Western Europe and Eastern Mediterranean team, the intern will monitor political and security developments, research regional issues, report on UN meetings, prepare summary notes and senior-official briefing materials, and assist the organization of meetings and events.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor media reports and political and security developments in the region
- Conduct background research and analysis of regional issues and trends
- Follow and report on relevant United Nations Security Council and General Assembly meetings
- Attend meetings and events and prepare summary notes
- Provide logistical support for meetings and events
- Prepare briefing materials for senior officials
Role Requirements
- Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate programme or final academic year of a first university degree programme
- Study a field closely related to the internship
- Fluency in spoken and written English
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset
