Job Description
Supports the Department of Peace Operations Office of the Under-Secretary-General in New York with political analysis and strategic advice. The officer monitors peace-operation developments, identifies risks and early warning, drafts reports and briefing materials, coordinates policy issues across the UN system and Member States, supports operational staffing and budget functions, and provides.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor political developments affecting peace operations
- Analyse policy and cross-cutting issues for early warning
- Draft reports briefing notes talking points and speeches
- Coordinate policy issues across UN departments and partners
- Brief Member State representatives and recommend action
- Support staffing planning and budget functions
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in political science international relations law public administration or related field
- At least seven years of political science international relations law conflict resolution or related experience
- At least three years in a front office supporting senior UN officials
- Peacekeeping experience in Africa and another region
- English and French are required
