Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse and monitor political developments in the Great Lakes region
- Lead the Political Affairs Unit and strategic planning
- Support good offices, confidence building and mediation processes
- Engage national authorities and regional partners
- Oversee reporting to the Security Council and political analysis
- Manage office work programme and staff performance
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in political science, international relations, social science, law or related field
- At least fifteen years of political science, international relations, diplomacy, conflict-resolution or related experience
- Senior representation and large multidisciplinary team management experience
- English and French fluency
Desired Criteria
- Great Lakes region political experience
- Africa field experience
