Job Description
Advises the OSCE Mission to Moldova on political and conflict sensitivities, developments around the Dniester/Nistru River and preventive action. The seconded officer produces analytical reporting, supports dialogue and confidence-building, maintains political contacts, represents the Mission and conducts security-zone monitoring to inform mission leadership and programme work.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Advise Mission colleagues on political and conflict sensitivities
- Draft analytical reports, briefings, talking points and inputs for Mission leadership
- Support dialogue, negotiation and confidence-building measures
- Provide political analysis and representation on Joint Control Commission and peacekeeping-operation issues
- Maintain contacts and provide advice on developments on both banks of the Dniester/Nistru River
- Identify conflict-escalation risks and advise preventive measures with other Mission components
- Conduct monthly security-zone monitoring visits and contribute to monitoring reports
Role Requirements
- First-level university degree in international studies, public policy, political science, law or a related field
- Minimum six years of relevant professional experience
- International mission members must work outside their home country or country of permanent residence; nationals and permanent residents of Moldova are not eligible
- Professional fluency in English and working knowledge of Russian
- Valid automobile driving licence and ability to drive manual transmission
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of political integration and power-sharing models as a conflict-resolution tool
- Knowledge of Romanian
- Experience working in an international organization, diplomacy and public affairs

- Open to international secondment only; all costs are borne by the nominating state authority
