Communications Specialist (Climate Change)

FAO is building a consultant roster in Rome for climate-change communications specialists to plan and deliver outreach across adaptation, mitigation, transparency and finance, produce stories and multimedia products, coordinate event communications, manage websites and social media, and measure audience reach and impact.

Department: Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment

• Develop and implement the Climate Change team’s communication strategy
• Produce stories, briefs, press releases and multimedia content
• Coordinate communications for climate events and negotiations
• Manage websites, social media and audience analytics
• Monitor communication indicators and report impact

• Advanced degree in journalism, communications or a related field, or a first degree with two additional years of experience, for consultant candidates
• University degree in journalism, communications or a related field for PSA subscribers
• At least one year of relevant experience for Category C, five years for Category B or ten years for Category A
• Working knowledge of English
