Overview

Support FAO forest restoration in Armenia through tree marking, hands-on training and daily technical oversight of coppice management, harvesting and planting in Syunik. The specialist monitors field progress, backstops the Sisian nursery, advises stakeholders and documents risks and corrective actions.

Responsibilities

  • Mark trees using the selective-upgrading methodology
  • Help stakeholders select and plan coppice-restoration sites
  • Train Hayantar staff and communities through hands-on learning
  • Oversee harvesting and planting operations at restoration sites
  • Monitor progress, identify field challenges and recommend improvements
  • Backstop activities at the Sisian nursery
  • Provide technical guidance on degraded-coppice management and forest restoration
  • Prepare monthly field-visit reports with risks and follow-up actions

Requirements

  • University degree or secondary education, preferably in forestry, natural-resource management or a related field
  • At least one year of forestry and training-organisation experience
  • Working knowledge of English and Armenian
  • Nationality of Armenia
