Natural Resource Management Specialist

FAO seeks a Natural Resource Management Specialist in New Delhi to support integrated landscape planning, ecosystem restoration and governance for a GEF sustainable food-systems project, applying GIS, safeguards, climate-resilience indicators and community capacity building across four Indian states.

Department: FAO Country Office in India

• Support assessment, planning, implementation and review of integrated landscape-management activities
• Design community capacity building for landscape management and restoration
• Prepare district landscape-management and ecosystem-restoration plans
• Integrate GIS, geospatial data and climate indicators into planning and prioritisation
• Identify sustainable livelihoods and restoration-based value chains
• Provide technical input on land degradation, mitigation, adaptation and safeguards
• Prepare knowledge products and support national and state technical and policy forums

• Advanced university degree in natural-resource management, environmental science, agricultural engineering, watershed management, rural development or a related field
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in integrated landscape management, restoration, natural-resource management or related work
• Working knowledge at Level C of English and Hindi
• Indian nationality or residence with a valid work permit

• The Personal Services Agreement is structured as 165 working days over 11 months
• The role supports a GEF-7 sustainable food-systems project across Punjab, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Odisha
