Consultant(e) National pour la Mise à jour des profils de marché en Mauritanie

Update market profiles across five Mauritanian regions through field research, institutional consultation and capacity building. The consultant analyses prices, trade flows, food access, nutrition and climate risks, maps supply chains, produces clean datasets and policy recommendations, and trains national and local actors.

• Design the study methodology, sampling plan, collection tools and quality controls
• Map priority markets, supply chains, corridors and market actors
• Collect and analyse field data on prices, seasonality, availability and market capacity
• Assess food access, nutrition, gender, protection and climate-resilience factors
• Prepare cleaned datasets, maps, flow diagrams and regional analyses
• Develop operational recommendations for market monitoring and cash programming
• Produce inception, interim and final reports and a decision-policy note
• Deliver dissemination workshops and build partner data-use capacity

• Master degree in agricultural economics, food security and nutrition, statistics or an equivalent field
• At least five years of relevant market-study and food-security experience
• Experience in Sahelian or comparable contexts
• Excellent English report-writing ability
• Operational capacity to work in Mauritania and the targeted regions
