Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and quality assurance to offices and partners
  • Support country and global protection programming
  • Contribute policy and research on protection issues
  • Represent UN Women in inter-agency protection mechanisms
  • Draft inputs to Secretary-General reports
  • Coordinate work on women human-rights defenders and reprisals

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in development, gender issues, economics, political science, human rights, law or relevant social sciences
  • At least five years of professional experience in gender equality, gender-responsive protection or the WPS agenda
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • French fluency
  • Experience with WPS coordination mechanisms
  • Policy on women human-rights defenders or reprisals
