Job Description

IOM seeks a Type B consultant to develop a Community-Based Protection Learning Note for the COMPASS and RDPP-NA programmes. The consultant will review IOM documentation, conduct stakeholder interviews, document lessons and practices, and deliver an inception document, an initial draft and a final publication-ready learning note. The work supports consistent community-based protection programming across multiple migration settings and regions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Review IOM documentation and programme outputs
  • Conduct key-informant interviews with IOM staff, communities and partners
  • Prepare an inception document with methodology, workplan and interview protocols
  • Develop a learning-note draft and best-practice repository
  • Finalize a publication-ready Community-Based Protection Learning Note

Role Requirements

  • University degree in international relations, social sciences, information management or a related field with at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in migration and human rights
  • Experience in protection programming in North Africa, including migration, protection, GBV, child protection, community-based protection and MHPSS
  • Fluency in English and French

Desired Criteria

  • Experience conducting similar consultancies for IOM or other UN agencies

Skills to Have

Additional info

  • The Type B consultancy is paid in three instalments against approved deliverables
  • The consultant is expected to undertake field visits; IOM covers official-duty travel costs under its travel policy
  • Consultants must provide proof of medical insurance for non-occupational accidents or illness
