Job Description
Supports the safe daily operation of IOM’s Protection Centre in Algiers, including overnight and weekend shifts. The consultant assists vulnerable beneficiaries and babies, identifies medical and protection needs, coordinates referrals and emergencies, maintains records, and protects dignity and confidentiality.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Maintain a continuous professional presence during assigned centre shifts
- Assist vulnerable beneficiaries and babies with food, sanitation and daily living
- Identify medical needs and coordinate confidential referrals and hospital accompaniment
- Conduct rounds to detect operational, safety, health and protection concerns
- Maintain attendance registers, shift handovers and follow-up records
- Activate emergency procedures and escalate violence, safeguarding or medical incidents
- Facilitate access to centre services while preserving dignity and confidentiality
Role Requirements
- Secondary education
- At least two years of experience in a similar role supporting vulnerable populations
- Knowledge of migrant protection, confidentiality and sensitive-case management
- Availability for rotating onsite shifts covering nights, weekends and public holidays
- Fluency in English and French
Desired Criteria
- Training or studies in social sciences, humanitarian action, healthcare, psychology or social work
- Experience in reception facilities, social centres or humanitarian protection centres
- Working knowledge of Arabic
