Project Associate (Protection)

Deliver protection and project support at IOM’s Dewele Migration Response Centre. The associate will provide tailored assistance to vulnerable migrants, analyse case and service data, coordinate budgets and administration, prepare reports, liaise with authorities and partners, and guide junior staff.

Department: Protection Unit / Migration Response Centre

• Provide tailored direct assistance to migrants in vulnerable situations
• Compile and analyse migrant profiles, vulnerabilities, needs and services
• Monitor budgets and coordinate administrative actions for project delivery
• Prepare reports, briefings, records and meeting or training materials
• Coordinate with authorities, UN agencies, partners and donors and guide junior staff

• Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or related field with three years of experience, or school diploma with five years
• Experience liaising with authorities and humanitarian partners
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, displaced persons or other vulnerable groups
• Fluency in English and Amharic

• Special Short Term Graded contract of up to nine months
• Selection may support similar appointments for 24 months
