Job Description
Provides UNICEF with specialist support on child protection in humanitarian action and gender-based violence in emergencies in Mali. The consultant will strengthen technical coordination, analysis and programme quality, support partners and systems, and help ensure that humanitarian responses protect children and address the distinct risks faced by girls and boys.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide technical support on child protection in humanitarian action
- Support gender-based violence in emergencies programming
- Coordinate with humanitarian partners and counterparts
- Strengthen programme quality and technical analysis
- Contribute to protection systems and emergency response planning
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or another relevant social science field
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in child protection-related social development planning and management
- Fluency in French and working knowledge of English
Desired Criteria
- Experience in child protection programme development in humanitarian settings and GBViE areas within a UN system agency or organization
- Knowledge of child protection challenges in the Mali or Sahel context
- Experience with the UN system, preferably UNICEF
- Experience in data processing and information management
- Familiarity with cash transfers and economic empowerment for vulnerable people and households
